About

Powering our Meriden and Wallingford workforce through partnership of community nonprofit partners and other providers to meet people where they are right now and bring them to where they strive to be.

United We Power Our Workforce!

United Way of Meriden and Wallingford pivoted their new impact focus for the next few years to focus on workforce. Through various focus groups and discussions with community nonprofit partners, community leaders and stakeholders, the topic on the local workforce was mentioned the most including the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic which have affected the workforce. There are fulfilling job opportunities across various fields of work matched with a lack motivated workers to fill the positions. United Way’s partner nonprofit agencies have clients who wish to upskill themselves to take on these opportunities but have some roadblocks and lack of support to fully guide them through their journey to reach their goal of uplifting their careers and ultimately their lives.

Through United Way of Meriden and Wallingford’s new impact focus- United We Power Our Workforce– their organization, community nonprofit partners and the appointed Navigators will meet people where they are right now to bring them to where they strive to be.

Please look around on this website to become familiar with our Navigators who will help their clients every step of the way by connecting them to the vital Supporting Services United Way is funding along with other community partners and resources, and Career Development opportunities there are for those who are motivated to upskill themselves.
